'Speaking Wisely' is a practical guide for community organisations, including community legal centres, on using and managing public comment. The aim is to allow organisations to speak out confidently while avoiding damaging claims, complaints and mistakes.
It contains checklists, introductions to areas of relevant law and types of media, brief tastes of actual cases and some hypothetical community scenarios.
It is designed to printed off in black and white, used in staff training and the checklists copied and used for individual activities.
The publication is based on the law of NSW and some sections will not be relevant outside NSW.
