Title

Sustainability in the Murray Darling Basin

Abstract

The EDO has assisted environment groups, community groups, and individuals to understand and engage in the complex legal discussions around the development of the Murray Darling Basin Plan. The EDO has also drafted numerous law reform submissions and appeared before Parliamentary Committees to advocate for and improve understanding of a legal structure that supports sustainable water use in the Basin.

In April 2012 the EDO released a legal analysis of whether the draft Basin Plan complies with the Water Act (follow link below).
