This approach to providing the community with plain language information on a comprehensive range of legal topics has been developed by AustLII, the NT Legal Aid Commission and the Darwin Community Legal Service, with the support of the Law Society of the Northern Territory Public Purposes Trust. ![]() 'Speaking Wisely' is a practical guide for community organisations, including community legal centres, on using and managing public comment. The aim is to allow organisations to speak out confidently while avoiding damaging claims, complaints and mistakes. It contains checklists, introductions to areas of relevant law and types of media, brief tastes of actual cases and some hypothetical community scenarios. It is designed to printed off in black and white, used in staff training and the checklists copied and used for individual activities.
